Chiaki Dosho studied fashion and photography. Around 40 years ago, she discovered quilting, initially working with traditional quilts before developing a mixed media practice focused on art quilts and fiber art incorporating photography. Her work is distinguished by original techniques and a continuous pursuit of unique artistic expression. Based in Japan, she exhibits internationally. She has participated in Quilt National in the United States seven times and served as a judge for the 2023 edition. Since 2005, she has been selected ten times for Artextures in France. She has also exhibited in Como, Italy, as well as in the United States, Australia, and China (from Lausanne to Beijing). In 2025, seven of her works were added to the collection of the Nebraska Quilt Museum in the United States.
