Silvia Campagna offers an introduction to the art of sashiko through the creation of a personalized Komebukuro bag.

During this workshop, participants learn the fundamentals of the two main sashiko techniques: Hitozashi, known for its simple and precise stitches, and Moyōzashi, which allows for more decorative and complex patterns.

They also learn how to create templates, transfer them onto fabric, and embroider the designs on a textile piece used to make the bag. Various sashiko designs are presented, and participants receive a step-by-step instructional video for completing the Komebukuro bag. No prior embroidery experience is required.
