The Dairy Barn Arts Center, located in the Appalachian foothills of southeastern Ohio, is a historic arts organization founded in 1978 and listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is the home of Quilt National, the longest-running juried exhibition of art quilts in the United States. Born from a group of artists determined to push quilting beyond traditional boundaries, the exhibition emerged as a platform for bold, experimental works created for the wall rather than the bed.
Quilt National was founded to champion innovation in quiltmaking and to affirm the quilt as a powerful contemporary art form.
