Sophie Zaugg is a self-taught textile artist who draws on patchwork traditions and techniques to create abstract, dynamic, and distinctly contemporary compositions. Influenced by graphic design, contemporary design, and architecture, she focuses on the visual impact of color and geometric form with precision and clarity.
She regularly exhibits in Switzerland, where she lives, and her work has been selected numerous times for major international events, including QuiltCon and Quilts = Art = Quilts.
Since making her first quilt—a Log Cabin created in 1998—Sophie has never stopped creating. Trained as a software analyst and programmer, she chose after twenty years in the IT field to devote herself fully to textile art. This career shift informs her structured, methodical approach, where composition and detail are central to her artistic exploration.
