Irina Timofeeva

Irina Timofeeva started sewing in childhood. At the age of 20, she discovered patchwork and quilting. For many years, she has been making quilts and collecting fabrics.Most of her quilts are modern, but she also enjoys working with traditional techniques as it’s the best way to showcase her collection of thousands of fabrics.She loves fine arts and often tries to create quilts inspired by paintings, fabric patterns, and her own experiences.Guided tour: every day at 3 p.m. – EN and RU

This exhibition is built as Irina Timofeeva’s homage to fabrics. Different fabrics sparked her interest and creativity: 19th century artisanal fabrics, Russian avant-garde of the early 20th century, mass produced mid-century cottons, modern quilting fabrics and everything in between. Discover the meticulous care taken in selecting each piece for its color, texture, and meaning and study her compositions in detail to uncover her secrets. This exhibition will make fabric and design lovers very, very happy.
