The lecture continues with the origin and history of Rouennerie, Provençal fabric, Jouy cloth and Madras.
Mention will be made of the Jacquard loom and Garance and Indigo dyes. Emmanuelle Carré concludes her talk with the story of the birth of Nîmes fabrics, their evolution, their time in the United States with Levis Strauss and finally their return to Nîmes.
The lecture will be offered in French in its first session, and then in English in the second time slot.
