There are many prejudices about the Amish. Using never-before-seen slides, Jacques Légeret, author of three books on the Amish, shows the “modern” aspect of these so-called backward-looking communities, victims of many prejudices concerning their way of life and their quilts.

Jacques Légeret is a renowned expert on Amish quilts, which he has studied and collected for decades. Through his research and publications, he highlights the artistic and spiritual richness of this textile tradition.
He also played a key role in the creation of the Carrefour – The European Quilt Show, as he was the first to exhibit quilts in Val d’Argent in 1993, during the world symposium celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Amish movement in the region.
