‘Inspired by Landscape’ is a PowerPoint presentation showing how the varied landscapes of Australia have inspired Dianne’s work as well as some other Australian quilters.
The lecture will also discuss the way materials, process and technique have enabled these artists to develop a distinctive style.

Dianne Firth is an Australian textile artist whose abstract work is inspired by natural forms and landscape, echoing her background as a landscape gardener. She explores light, transparency and layering to evoke erosion, memory and natural cycles.
A founding member of the tACTile collective, she teaches at the University of Canberra and acts as a landscape heritage consultant. Her work, exhibited internationally, combines textiles and poetry in a sensitive, uncluttered approach.
