From childhood, Dominique Rodrigues was introduced to art and handcrafts by her father and grandmother. She developed an early interest in painting and embroidery while later working as a hairdresser in the Paris region.
At the age of forty, she moved to Morbihan in Brittany, where she discovered traditional patchwork. This relocation marked a turning point in her life. Living in the countryside, surrounded by animals, trees, and flowers, her love of pictorial imagery resurfaced and found new expression in her quilts.
Her inspiration is drawn directly from nature and rural life. She often adds a childlike, joyful touch that defines her artistic universe. Blending tradition with spontaneity, Dominique Rodrigues creates warm textile narratives in which color and storytelling play a central role.
