The Quilt India Foundation (QIF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting quilting as a contemporary textile art while celebrating India’s rich textile heritage. Through exhibitions, workshops, educational programs, and community initiatives, QIF works to inform, educate, and inspire quilters across India and internationally.
Since its founding in 2018, the foundation has played an important role in developing the modern quilting movement in India. It supports artists at every stage of their creative journey and encourages the evolution of quilting from a domestic craft into a recognized form of artistic expression.
Through international collaborations, curated exhibitions, and outreach programs—including initiatives supporting rural artisans—QIF creates opportunities for dialogue between tradition and contemporary design. By fostering a vibrant creative community, the foundation helps hobbyists, designers, and textile artists bring their work onto the global stage.
Birds of Paradise is presented as part of this mission, highlighting the creativity and diversity of contemporary quilt art emerging from India and beyond.
